Cast Iron Baking is an imaginative book, full of delicious recipes, many I have not seen before. The layout is clear and the instructions helpful and concise. I have been baking, and sharing with neighbors, and everything so far has been a hit. I have to give a special shout out to the apple sweet rolls, which were new to us, easy to bake, delicious, but with a such a lovely dough I would want to use it with other fillings. So light and perfect, just a lovely wonderful dough to work with and a delight to eat.One thing to note is she uses kosher salt. There is a difference in measuring between kosher and table salt. The conversions I see tend to be half table salt to kosher salt. So be sure to watch the recipe or your sweets might turn out too saltyThe snicker doodles s are wonderful and worked really well as a pat in dough. The blueberry cornmeal skillet cake was delicious, the slight corn flavor and texture marrying beautifully with the blueberries.While the recipes are divided by seasons, I would easily mix and match for delicious results.I do have one issue with the book. It's okay that I need a 10 inch, 12 inch, 9 inch skillet, but the small skillets .. 4-6 six inch, 4-6 five inch. The author really could not finagle the recipes to fit in one or the other? I'm okay with needing a corn stick pan, and I've been wanting to buy a scone pan for awhile, but the plethora of little skillets is silly, both from a storage and expense stand point. I am going to use the scone pan for the corn sticks.However, I wouldn't let that stop me from buying the book, it's too full of delicious imaginative recipes to pass by.

I've tried a few recipes and so far it's great. If you like cooking with cast iron then it's worth trying.
