"Second Sight" by Judith Orloff is a very good book that is a combination of an autobiography and a guide on increasing your intuition. Judith's writing in this guide is very helpful and touching. The following pages list some of the great information on why I felt this way, and why I recommend "Second Sight":Chapter 5 on Mixing Medicine (starts on page 102)- Judith lists some rewarding experiences that transpired when she met a parapsychologist by the name of Stephan (founder and director of the Mobius group).Chapter 7 on Preparing to See (page 176): She shares how meditation has become one of the most powerful tools to help her become more intuitively connected (and how it can benefit many others as well).Chapter 8 on the Alchemy of Dreams (page 232): The helpful point that dreams can help symbolize the clues to one's future. I also appreciate how she mentioned that even the most challenging dreams are meant to serve as signposts towards whatever may need more improvement and recover vital wisdom. Like many others, I experienced psychic/intuitive events from early childhood on and had no idea what was happening, so I did not tell anyone and suppressed my own experiences with a great deal of fear and shame for much of my life. This book is excellent and profound and provides insights that I have never read anywhere else. I am finally accepting myself as a psychic and an intuitive (the terms are not the same) and my life is improving as a result. This book is liberating! I highly recommend this book, and really, I highly recommend many of Orloff's other books as well. If you are not sure where to start with her many books, I would suggest beginning with "The Empaths' Survival Guide" because it is very accessible IMHO. Whether you think that perhaps you are an empath, a highly sensitive person, a psychic, an intuitive, highly spiritual, a healer, and/or something else that is similar, her books will help a great deal.

I love that she shared how these gifts actually unfold and that you can either nurture them and grow in power and use or deny them and not be enriched by their essence. I needed books to describe what it is really like to encounter the supernatural and fold it into life without losing touch with the ground of reality. When my gifts opened to me it was utterly terrifying. I am so thankful she wrote these books. I bought them all and am reading them all for sound guidance. I don’t like having the gifts because I feel like a freak. She shows us how to incorporate them into our lives with love and care and gives truly useful advice in how to do that. I look forward to more from her. It’s scary when the world opens up as it can. Thankfully we have gifted doctors to give advice which is not rooted in circus and carnival madness. It’s a challenge to become educated without encountering those who are charlitans or fringe.

I just read "Second Sight" cover to cover over a period of 3 days, every waking moment I could put on hands on it. I have never been so immersed in a book. I feel like I have just been shaken from a dream that has made no sense (only it was truly my life) to a whole new awareness of possibilities! I felt like Judith was speaking directly to me, due to relating to many of her experiences, but also because of her conversational writing style, which I very much enjoyed. In "Second Sight", I learned that childhood events I had never understood before could, in fact, be related to intuitive/spiritual experiences. I feel that my life has just turned a corner, and begun a vital chapter in my quest for "why am I here?". To understand and appreciate that I am an intuitive empath, explains pretty much everything about me personally. In my careers as an both an RN and as a Psychotherapist, I now know that my abilities have truly been a part of my healing work and I am further inspired to develop my intuition professionally and personally. I am finally free to say "YES, I AM intuitive" without fear of ridicule, thanks to now having Dr. Orloff as a respected frame of reference for colleagues and clients. While I used to laugh it off whenever I would hear "are you psychic or something?" I now have the courage to respond affirmatively. Thank you, Dr. Orloff, for risking your own credibility so that others can honor and develop their intuitive abilities. I am excited to dig in to all of your books and I will be recommending and integrating them in my work, and with my family and friends. Like many others, I cast aside dozens of early century souvenir bracelets in my day. Despite that, a seed of curiosity was set by our family friends. Natch. We shall call them the Chambers: it was they who asked our opinion of a silver bracelet we had never before seen. It was lightweight but had a magnificent Number Eight spiderweb turquoise stone. They showed us the eBay link from which it originated. It was difficult coughing up the words to tell them their "find" was souvenir, despite the stellar turquoise gemstone and otherwise claims of eBay's seller. This incident continues in the first two paragraphs of my book Preface. And my self-imposed ten-year odyssey began that very day; a seed of curiosity that blossomed into a fully inflamed passion, "Fred Harvey Jewelry," a term I'd never heard before eBay. So eBay became the arrow point of my curiosity, beginning with that very link to the Chambers' auction win. "What?," I wondered, "is Fred Harvey Jewelry?" Having been in the "Indian business" for nearly a half century, souvenir jewelry once comprised a steady revenue source for our own family Indian stores. We called them souvenir bracelets, so as to define them for buyers. When a youngster, we called them "Railroad bracelets" because they seemed to come from the train culture. But eBay called them "Fred Harvey bracelets." I was, indeed, curious . . . Yes, I admit a hands on education with the souvenir jewelry of the early fifties and later. We sold a ton of it. In many months, it was first among many curios which mostly paid the bills. We later drifted into an Indian Gallery mode, abandoning machined goods, including the best selling souvenir Indian jewelry. The Chambers' bracelet ignited a youthful flame in my soul. My early curiosities (also related in the book) were rekindled when a memorable and specific "Pretty Girl" bracelet reappeared fifty years after the first time I'd seen it. That beautiful machined bracelet, along with others in an Oregon antique mall, inflamed a fervor that has shaped our lives to this day. Studies have shown that souvenir silver Indian jewelry has seeped into a majority of the vintage Indian jewelry collections. That they would be confused with authentic silver Indian bracelets is no surprise. What IS surprising, is that otherwise well educated collectors found the same value in Fred Harvey bracelets as they did authentic handmade ones. As patterns arose among the many collections studied, the book started weaving its own tale. The fifty-five year study-span revealed many subways that had to be reconnected through the Fred Harvey platform. More questions appeared than were answered. Many theories were debunked, some one hundred eighty degrees. Others were confirmed. The words of over fifty leading authors helped assemble details and fill gaps. But the bracelets told the story. And I am happy Schiffer Publishing shared my enthusiasm for my study of Fred Harvey Jewelry by publishing this wonderful volume. And my photos. Thank you. Enjoy!

This book dispelled a lot of long held beliefs concerning "Indian Jewelry". So many things that I believed to be etched in stone were fabrications suited for tourists. The manipulation of the native people for trade works is a true reason to be upset, once again, about the mishandling of native american crafts. This book is a "must-have" for anyone interested in Southwest Indian Jewelry.

Arrived quickly and in good condition. I am so glad to have this book. The story behind the name Fred Harvey has given me a heads up on the validity and value of anything attributed to Fred Harvey. I highly suggest you read this book before invention in any Fred Harvey or Fred Harvey era jewelry or other Native American artifacts.

This book is beautiful and scholarly, but I'm a little disappointed. The title and description as Fred Harvey "Jewelry" is a little misleading. There are no examples of rings, pins, necklaces, earrings. The study was exclusively on bracelets & their designs as an example for all Fred Harvey jewelry. It will be helpful, but from the title, as a pre-ordered book, as a book about Fred Harvery "Jewelry", I was expecting a more all-encompassing review.

I love this book. I use it everyday for info. I am a long time Fred Harvey jewelry collector, and wouldn't be without a copy of this book.

Amazing sequel that surprised me at many turns. I loved that it included more character points of view! I adored so many of the characters in the first book, so to see them get their own chapters was amazing in this wonderful second book. I've heard it's just a duology, but I really think there could be a third. I hope they give Cindy Pon a chance to write more in this world because I think there's so much more story to tell!

This book is absolutely delightful and a rare entry that adds above and beyond the first novel. If you're on the fence about buying the second novel, go ahead and do it. You won't be disappointed.

Wow! What did I just read? No, really - I’m so glad I read the second book in this series, sequel to Serpentine. I was drawn in from start to finish. The characters, now all more fully-developed, were truly fascinating. I’m excited to see where this author takes us next!

This was a great book and I loved how it ended. I would consider it a worthy successor to Serpentine and I hope that the rest of Pon's books will be this great.

It's hard to come up with much more to say than that, but as delighted as I was to discover that Serpentine (the first book) existed, I was even happier to learn about the existence of this second book in the series after devouring the first in a morning. It wound up in a different place than expected, the juggling of three perspectives was handled well, and the depiction of the book's setting was great.

I think I enjoyed this more than Serpentine. Everyone grows more here, and we see much more of the magic system and the world.Blossom is a delight.

What an incredible journey! I miss the characters already and I'm hoping with all my heart there will be a third instalment. This story was so well written, with breathtaking imagery and edge-of-your-seat suspense, I could not put it down. The autor has left me missing a world i feel so connected to, even though I've never been. Excellent read!

I loved it! Could not put it down. I have read all of Cindy Pon's novels, and they do not disappoint! I highly recommend it.
