I cannot say enough good things about this book. It is helpful, practical, and accessible. While the subjects addressed in this book (social media, porn, suicide, sex talks & masturbation, transgender, and rejection from peers, just to name a few) can be downright terrifying to parents, the author offers hope and encouragement for the tough stuff going on in today's world--we can do this! And a bubble is not the answer. More rules and more micromanaging is not the answer. Can I get a Hallelujah for that?!So often, when I read parenting books by Christian authors I often feel like I'm not Christian enough, or I'm doing it all wrong, and in order to get it right my family needs to wake up at dawn and have a family devotional. The tone of the book is not at all like that! The tone of "Talk" is positive, encouraging, and empowering. Again and again, the author gives personal examples and reasons why, but lovingly says your family, your choice."Talk" takes the reader through the process of how to establish open communication with your kids, and how not to have just one talk, but many talks about all the pertinent subjects facing our children, tweens, and teens. That's what has helped me so much--the teaching of an open, on going dialog with my kids.The conversational style is easy to read. The tips are practical and easy to employ. The book is great for moms and dads. By far, the most life changing thing I learned from this book and this author is that when my child comes to me and tells me something hard to hear or confesses something, the most important thing is to not freak out, nor get angry; instead, say the words, "I'm so glad you told me this." It's called the parent filter. Just one of the many gems in this book.

Every overwhelmed mom will find validation, comfort, support, and practical tips in the pages of this book. Mandy shares her journey from a "clueless" mom -- caught off guard by what her young daughter was hearing at school -- to a mom who was willing to face her own fears and talk openly with her kids about difficult subjects. This is the first book I read, apply and see immediate results about open communication, teaching my children about the safe boundaries for them to live with the cyber world, relationships and the world in general. It is a journey, but after reading the book, I was able to talk to my kids and my husband about those limits, no tears, no fears and most amazing, they keep following the "rules". Even my kids told me that they know I love them because we set up rules so they can be and do better. They know we're paying attention to them because we love them and they follow because they love themselves. A great book for these times. The best!!!

This book was so helpful to me in understanding the world of cyberparenting and open communication with my teenager. I have taken a more calm approach to my children concerning questions they may ask. This has helped me in the transition from elementary age child to a tween in middle school and things to know while they are headed into high school. Cast Iron Baking is an imaginative book, full of delicious recipes, many I have not seen before. The layout is clear and the instructions helpful and concise. I have been baking, and sharing with neighbors, and everything so far has been a hit. I have to give a special shout out to the apple sweet rolls, which were new to us, easy to bake, delicious, but with a such a lovely dough I would want to use it with other fillings. So light and perfect, just a lovely wonderful dough to work with and a delight to eat.One thing to note is she uses kosher salt. There is a difference in measuring between kosher and table salt. The conversions I see tend to be half table salt to kosher salt. So be sure to watch the recipe or your sweets might turn out too saltyThe snicker doodles s are wonderful and worked really well as a pat in dough. The blueberry cornmeal skillet cake was delicious, the slight corn flavor and texture marrying beautifully with the blueberries.While the recipes are divided by seasons, I would easily mix and match for delicious results.I do have one issue with the book. It's okay that I need a 10 inch, 12 inch, 9 inch skillet, but the small skillets .. 4-6 six inch, 4-6 five inch. The author really could not finagle the recipes to fit in one or the other? I'm okay with needing a corn stick pan, and I've been wanting to buy a scone pan for awhile, but the plethora of little skillets is silly, both from a storage and expense stand point. I am going to use the scone pan for the corn sticks.However, I wouldn't let that stop me from buying the book, it's too full of delicious imaginative recipes to pass by.

I've tried a few recipes and so far it's great. If you like cooking with cast iron then it's worth trying.

I was really looking forward to reading this book, especially since I had just read Bobbie Brown's "Dirty Rocker Boys" Book- which was basically about him. I wanted to get Tommy's point of view about their relationship. But she didn't get one mention from him. Nothing?! Only Pamela mentions "someone named Bobbie Brown." Really? He only was engaged to Bobbie, and had her name tattooed on his neck- which he didn't recommend doing. But as with her, he didn't really go into detail about his relationship with his ex Heather either. It's almost like Pamela had final edit approval (removal) over that.The beginning of the book was just the worst- his private anatomy "talks" and he describes his "skills." Ugh. Aside from that, it's an ok book- he goes from ridiculous to almost down-to-earth, and back again. He was surprisingly close to his parents, but you won't learn too much more about him from this book, oh, and he likes the word "craise."

This is not quite 5 stars for me, but it was well worth my time and the purchase price. I read it over a three day period and I got tons of enjoyment out of it. I'm really glad that I read this book to get Tommy's personal take on several different things that happened to him, especially being married to Heather Locklear and Pamela Anderson. I was also interested in Tommy's account of going to jail, about a young boy that sadly died in his pool, and the passing of his father, being raised by his parents etc. Of course, many other great topics and stories are covered. I think a better rating would be about 4.6 stars, because that represents a percentage of the book that I totally enjoyed. The .4 remaining I sometimes felt was rather dumb, but it's not a big deal. I got many good giggles from the entertaining way Tommy expresses himself. I am familiar with Anthony Bozza and he does an excellent job finding the voice of the person he's writing for. I really felt that the writing style was completely Tommy talking. I can't guarantee someone else will like this, but it was good for me. It's not exactly the self-improvement type of book that I like to read, but I felt that in my own context of life, I identified with Tommy in a certain way. I've been epically misunderstood, and I think Tommy is misunderstood. The man personifies the idea of a rock star. He's wickedly talented. Post Motley Crue, it's probably true to say that he's the most talented of the four in that bunch. A true artist. Seemingly a lovable guy. That is all. :)

Entertaining, insightful and fun. Glad he didn't do the play by play of motley crue. It's been done to death. The book was about HIM. A lot of reviews complain about the notes from his famous appendage. I found them to be totally tongue in cheek, fitting of his personality. Most of these books are ego trips about all the groupies, this book went in depth about his marriages, kids and the hell he went through in jail. Good, fast read.

I am huge fan of Motley Crue and of Tommy Lee as a drummer. Was disappointed in this. If you know him then you already know that a certain part of his anatomy has been a major part of his life and don't need him talking from his ****'s point of view. Would rather he just talk honestly about his relationships.

To me this seemed like "Let's write a short book and make some fast money." If you're going to write a book, write a book, not just a few chapters of chosen parts of your life. Most guys don't have conversations with our dick, and having it chime in throughout the book made it even worse. His short "responses"to his editor in England only made him sound like a pompous ass. Aside from that, it was great...

First of all that is a straight five-star read. Why? Because those are just one person's thoughts on the life he's lived, and other stuff. Makes sense to either agree or disagree. It's all in the disclaimer, so just give it a quick look before either committing to the story, or walking away.I do have a habit of judging books by either the aftertaste they leave, or the amount of fun I had while reading them. This is by far one of the most fun reads, and I it's amazing, because there are no underdeveloped characters, most of the events are surreal, and overall it was a read worth spending 2 days on (and some bucks).So, if you decide to read it, get used to the fact that sometimes you would think "there it is, you said it, so true", and sometimes you would shake your head no, but you might learn something.It's also partly a more simple, not overdramatic look at the same events from the Dirt, and Heroin Diaries. Anyway, apparently it's time to move on to next autobiography).

I enjoyed this book. It was definitely written in Tommy's voice which made it feel genuine. He's lived a crazy life and was upfront about it and didn't try to make himself look better or like a victim. This book was funny, honest, and made him a lot more relatable in my opinion. If you enjoyed The Dirt you'll probably enjoy this: give it a read.

I love Motley Crue, but this book did not keep my interest. I finished it in hope's it would get better, but it didn't. I've seen Motley Crue several times , and like the book , it seems good at first, like their first show, but like their last show, it only got more boring. But the bad concerts was Vince Neil's for forgetting the words.. Tommy does great live... he should stick to music, not writing.

Nice cards, very cute, suitable for young grandchildren (under 10, I'd say). A number of the cards refer to "grandson" or "granddaughter", which means they're not usable for some people, or troublesome for those who have an uneven mix of grands. Would have been just as easy to make them refer to "grandchild", no? Also, there are a fair number that refer to faith-specific holidays, which means they're not particularly suitable for families not of those faiths.

I purchased this book as a Christmas gift for my mom, the grandmother of my two children. I was pleased with it when it came in the mail, but it was even more fun to watch my mom and son talk about the book after she opened it on Christmas morning. My son loves both sending and receiving mail so when a Grandma gram comes in the mail, he gets so excited. He is always looking forward to when he can send a note to grandma and it really does foster the close relationship my kids have with their grandma. It's especially great since we live halfway across the United States from each other. I love the bond they have and this is one way to encourage communication with my toddler and his grandma.

I really would not have ordered these if the description mentioned they are targeted towards granddaughter or grandson. I have no grandson and wasted money. Now they want to charge me shipping to return that is as much as the product costs. The postcards are not what I would expect for the price.

These are the best ideas for keeping in touch with grandchildren, but most of them could be used to reach out to anyone. These serve my purpose quite well. My grandchildren are in high school and college, and they are so busy that I don't hear much from them. BUT, these handy-dandy postcards produce sufficient guilt that I do hear from them soon after I send one. I'm very careful not to over-do it though, or else they might lose their effectiveness. Anyhow, Love these Postcards!!

I purchased the first pack of grandograms for myself, and since, have purchased two more packs for friends. I send each grandchild one postcard a month, and they love receiving their own mail. The cards are a good size, sturdy, and the fronts are colorful.

My granddaughters absolutely love getting their postcards in the mail. Such a cute & clever idea. It makes it fun to stay in touch with them when they are so far away.

Our 2 grandchildren (2& 4) have individual mailboxes in their rooms. Fun cards to send every week. They love getting mail.

This is a book of postcards for special and everyday occasions. I love sending them to my grandchildren when school starts, holidays, at the end of school, and mostly when I just miss them. The kids really love getting them, too. They very seldom get mail so they are always very excited to receive their very own mail from Grandma (and there are several from Granddad, too.) Such a wonderful idea!

 There are several features that really stand out about this pocket dictionary:1. This pocket dictionary is “bi-directional.” So the first half of this dictionary lists Spanish words with their English translations. And the second half of this dictionary lists English words with the words translated into Spanish.2. Since the dictionary is “bi-directional” it can be used by students learning English as well as students learning Spanish.3. There are over 40,000 words listed in this small pocket dictionary, according to the book’s publisher. Of course, I didn’t bother to count them :-)There is a section at the beginning of this dictionary which can be used as a guide for learning how to conjugate Spanish verbs. Although there are more comprehensive books for learning Spanish verbs, I don’t know of any that’s as convenient to carry with you everywhere like this pocket dictionary.If I had to pick one thing and only one thing that I truly like about this dictionary, I would have to say its size. It can fit right in your back pocket if you need a dictionary to take to your Spanish-language meet-up class or if you would like to bring a dictionary with you when vacationing in a Spanish speaking country.In closing, I’ll leave you with the 3 learning-Spanish resources which are currently my favorites. Such as, eating organic food, living abroad and working as a digital nomad, and working out at a cross-fit or MMA gym. Learn Beginner Spanish also works wonders for developing an authentic sounding accent.2. 501 Spanish Verbs (501 Verb Series). If you think you can accomplish fluency in Spanish as an adult without mastering conjugating Spanish verbs, you are only fooling yourself. This book is an absolute essential resource for learning how to conjugate Spanish verbs. It will show you how to conjugate every Spanish verb tense imaginable. The version I have also includes a bonus CD which teaches both regular verbs and irregular verbs.3. Learn Basic Spanish With Fast Lane Spanish : Get In The Learning Spanish Fast Lane - Get In The Learning Spanish Fast Lane. This is from the same publisher that created Learn Beginner Spanish. What I love about this audio program besides the fact that they use the same teaching style found in Learn Beginner Spanish which includes native Spanish-speaking actors to help you get an authentic accent, this program does a great job of teaching Spanish pronouns and prepositions in a natural way. Most programs seem to skip over this topic and only focus on conjugating Spanish verbs. Like so many others, I chose this because it seemed to be the best compromise between portability (pocketability?) and content. I think it balances the two nicely with a good amount of words, but not being so bulky you can't take it with you. The print is small, but that's to be expected when the book is this size.I did run into situations where the word I was looking for was not in there, but it was still adequate for general use. For reference I studied Spanish for 3 years in High School and have traveled to spanish-speaking countries on 4 occasions. Don't expect this book to make you fluent, but it's great for when you are in the middle of a conversation and can't remember a word or two here and there.

I am a medical student and I bought this dictionary for my white coat pocket. I spoke Spanish fluently in college but now I'm not as fluid. I need the dictionary from time to time when I forget single words, and I don't always have service in the clinic to look it up on my phone. This isn't going to work for a beginner, but for someone of intermediate to advanced level, this is a great reference. It's small, comprehensive, and convenient. About the size of an index card, but a little wider. Pages are thin and of bible-like quality as others have mentioned, so it might not be the best product for your wild backpacking adventures or something if similar rough environment.

Although this is a small book, its packed with useful information. The size is reasonable for carrying in a cargo pocket or small bag. If you wear glasses or have trouble reading small print, this may not very easy to see.

Small, but helpful in my Spanish class...so I do not have to lug around my huge one around! I especially use it when playing Spanish word and board games ... much more helpful than my Spanish App dictionary on my phone because you can see many words that begin with the letter you are looking for. I was afraid the words would be too small since I have poor eyesight, but although the words are small, I am not really having trouble with the font size.

This is an excellent purchase. The "Merriam-Webster's Pocket Spanish-English Dictionary" has all the words you need for ordinary discourse and reading, and it fits into your pocket. It is easy to handle. A friend of mine in Mérida, Yucatán, México, recommended the "Merriam-Webster's Pocket Spanish-English Dictionary" to me. He had used it over several years for the Spanish he needed in Mérida. He bought it on a trip to Belize. He thought that this dictionary would be so very useful to me, and he was right. I can use it while I am reading along in novels written in the Spanish language. It keeps my reading going excellently. I recommend the "Merriam-Webster's Pocket Spanish-English Dictonary" highly.

Pocket sized.Let me repeat. Pocket sized.It's not often that something claiming to fit in your pocket actually does so. We live in a world of jumbo smartphones and 'pocket' notebooks that simply won't fit. This book does. It needs a pocket all to itself, but it fits. If you're trying to learn Spanish at work, and need an easy reference within arm's reach, this book will work for you. It works for me.

This Spanish-English dictionary is just over the size of a 3 x 5 card (about an inch thick) making it small enough to fit many pockets or easily into a purse. The writing is small, but since I need reading glasses anyway, I can see it without difficulty. (My son who doesn't need glasses can read them perfectly.) The cover is a heavy paper with what appears some kind of plastic or lamination, which gives it some strength. The whole book is not stiff, however, but somewhat flexible so it can give and take with the movement in your pocket without discomfort. It is important to note that this is a word-to-word translation as opposed to a phrasebook.

Ok disappointed in book content.

The book reeks of some dude randomly jotting down phrases that he overheard in a subway. This book will not be given away. Instead, it will be recycled.

If you have any sense of humor, this is good waiting room material for a doctor's office or bathroom reading. Not meant to be read straight through, but fun to flip through and read at random.

Funny book. Gave to a co-worker as a gift, and it was well received.

I bought this as a gift for my brother. It's not quite child-friendly (which wasn't a problem; my brother is 19), but it is very funny. It has different categories (media, holidays, etc.), with snarky observations and quotes. We spent about an hour reading it and laughing out loud. I would definitely recommend it!
