This book is phenomenal! Not only intended for professionals, but also an excellent resource for those looking to further their understanding of how these amazing musical boxes function. The book covers a complete range of restoration techniques needed for these machines, and provides very clear instruction on how to best approach them. Although some of the more difficult repairs should still be performed by a professional in the field, many of the simpler repairs could easily be performed by someone with average skill sets. This is by far the most complete, and quite possibly the best, resource available on this subject.

Ord-Hume is one of the most widely recognized experts in the mechanical music and antique clock arena, having written many books. This is a good introduction for those who know little, and very detailed for those who know a lot, but without solid machine shop skills (and a fully equipped machine shop), you will be learning mostly theory. However, I'm one who likes to know how it works, so this book added to my knowledge base, even if I am unable to perform many of the repairs listed (like replacement of comb teeth--do NOT try this at home!). Another good book for the library of any devoted collector. Lots of diagrams and black and white only photos. Reading this might save you from accidentally damaging a priceless antique!

The placing of paragraphs, examples, and sub paragraphs are off. For example, when it mentions an example to the "left," the example will be on another slide, or somewhere random on the current page. I have messed with the display options for hours, and found no fix to the formatting issue. I have used many ebooks for college, and can say there is something wrong with this one. I wish I would of just ordered a paper copy.

After reading the review of this book in many places, I searched for this in several bookstores in Singapore but could not find anywhere then I brought the kindle version from amazon. Now, I know why everyone recommends this book. This is a must have for all GMAT takers. I was able to improve my verbal from 36 to 40 after reading this book. My first GMAT score was 690 and I moved to scored 740 after just going through this book. My CR accuracy improved from 50-60 to 95-100%.

This is a must-have, whatever your scoring goal is. It is truly a bible and will help you understanding the techniques to crack this part of GMAT.

Navigation has also been improved. It has grown too by about 70 pages (in part due to having more white space and in part due to content). Not a light book at 370 pages but definitely very very comprehensive overview of pretty much everything. Don't expect to see too much fluff, the book gets right to it. Though after MGMAT has improved their CR book (currently in its 6th edition), I would have given this book 3-4 stars, the latest revision seems to provide a good alternative to the Veritas Prep/MGMAT books.==== 2009 Review ====Though pretty similar to Manhattan GMAT book, it offers more practice questions in the book and has a slightly better overview of the Critical Reasoning questions.~~~ Strengths: ~~~1. In-depth overview of the Critical Reasoning strategies and approaches to questions2. Clearly divides the CR question types and provides specific strategy for each type as well as the pitfalls and common errors. You will also get to know how the CR questions are made.3. Good quality GMAT-like practice questions4. Created by the authors of the best LSAT books (LSAT logic section is much harder than CR on the GMAT; there is actually a decent amoount of overlap in this book with the LSAT book). Speaking of which, for extra hardcore (and absolutely not necessary but still), you can get the PowerScore LR book (comes with quite a few LSAT questions)~~~ Weaknesses: ~~~1. Could use more practice questions (more than mgmat though); you will need to find another source of CR questions such as GMAT Official guide 12 or the verbal supplement to the Official Guide (though the verbal OG has questions on the easier side)2. Some explanations are too convoluted3. No tests or online excercises/additional content~~~~ My Suggestions ~~~~- Read explanations to every question. Even if you got a question right, it does not mean, you solved it correctly (that is you used the correct approach or found all the shortcusts). You will be surpised sometimes and will pick up helpful tips even from explanations of questions you answered correctly- Follow the actual strategies (DUH). This is probably the most common mistake people make - they start inventing their own approaches. Don't do it until you have a high verbal score. If you don't, just follow!- If you don't have any Manhattan GMAT books, you want to get at least one, as each comes with access to 6 online CAT tests (these tests are worth the purchase). I am in love with this series. Each new addition gives us a growing family and the support that is needed as a whole, while at the same time making sure individuals are happy and content as well. It is always scary when a trip to the underworld is called for. I was hoping to learn more of Muriel however. I am sure we will hear more of her, in our future. Silly as this may sound, when I think of Midway, I always envision that part of it's a wonderful life, where they assign the angel to their next task. It's that clock maker Clarence's turn again.Each piece of this series has a great consistency with the others, and it all flows together so well. The characters have wit and charm. Perhaps a slight dose of humility would be nice to slide in, during quiet moments and privacy between mates. I am fascinated by the connection of this group of guys. This generation is seeing it is ok for men to care and grieve, or just wish for their dreams and not be chastised for them.Looking forward to seeing this family grow. That is what we do, when we either don't have family of our own, or they are gone before us. We start to make our own, where our place is secure and we are necessary to the group, each of us adding attributes that are needed for the completed circle to exist and grow stronger. Let us never become willing to settle, but instead always thriving to be better as a whole.Great read.I have but to see Cameo's name, to know it will be something I will love.

The second book in the Midway series which is a Hidden Wings spinoff.This book was not a love story for Thomas as I expected it to be, but don't let that stop you from reading it! In alot of ways it felt like a continuation of Alex and Eden's story, but with a focal point of saving their friend who has been captured. I really liked the multiple points of view this story is written in. It kept me connected with all of the characters and allowed me to get to know some of them better.I thoroughly enjoyed this story!! It left me excited for the next one, and I'm glad to see the expected wait time isn't too long. :)Even though this is not a love story, which I typically ALWAYS want to read, I am not disappointed in the least with having read it.The trek back into the underworld had me riveted and I'm very intrigued with the addition of Lucifer's sister. I'm hoping to see more of her character in the future books. I was hoping to find a miraculously alive Ethon around one of the underworld corners, but, alas, it did not happen. Lol.This book is another thumbs up for Cameo Renae!

Eden and Alex spent a lot of time together, and fell in love. Thomas was Alex' best friend. He had been waiting for an assignment and one came through. He's a surfer dude and his assignment sends him to Hawaii. His assignment is a real estate agent. Turns out, he had been spotted with a fallen.Thomas was captured. He was taken to hell, tortured and beaten. Alex was determined to get him. Can they survive a trip to hell? Who will travel?? It's surprising who goes. I love these characters. I love the book. No one could have written it better than Cameo Renae.

Saving Thomas is different from all the other books of the series!I truly loved getting to know different t characters this go round, and seeing more about Thomas!Thomas and Dom get tricked into getting caught and they have to go the defensive. I loved getting into the story!I wasn’t able to put the book down! Learning about past characters and new characters, abilities that defy normal thinking!Still, the tornado in the beginning was my favorite scene!!

Saving Thomas is book two in this series and a great addition to the series. We get all our favorite Guardians and Nephilims from book 1 plus some favorites from the main series Hidden Wings. We are introduced to a few new characters which are great. There is the action and adventure that you expect from this author and series. This series is a must read.

Just love this book. Cameo is a great author. I have read all her books! I can't wait for the next one to come out!!

Loved the whole story, couldn’t put it down, even read it making me late to bed! Excited for the next one

Thought the book was thorough covering his personal connections with his family, but unfortunately a bit light on his peers and the technical challenges and how he worked his way through them. Nevertheless, he is an inspiration to all us through his application to task and his work ethic.

well written, excellent photography and a very compelling story of one of the Genius of our time. What a shame he had to leave so early. I highly recommend the book !

This book has useful information and great pictures of John Britten's dream bike. It was ahead of its time and I see no reason why any of the large bike companies can't build it under licence. It is still a very advanced motorcycle, even today.
