About the Author
Stan and Jan Berenstain introduced the first Berenstain Bear books in 1962. Mike Berenstain grew up watching his parents work together to write about and draw these lovable bears. Eventually he started drawing and writing about them too. Though Stan died in 2005, and Jan in 2012, Mike continues to create the delightful Bear adventures from his studio in Pennsylvania, in an area that looks much like the sunny dirt road deep in Bear Country.

My 4-year-old likes this book, and as a parent, I like the main theme. Brother Bear is kind to a young kid at the park, and at the end of the book, his kindness is rewarded. There's less conflict/misbehavior in this book than many of the other Berenstain Bears books. Be advised that this book does contain a couple of Biblical references that kind of sneaked up on us. This was not a problem or a perk to us, I guess, but for some people it may be one or the other.
My kids loved the Berenstain Bear books growing up so I wanted to buy some for my grandchildren. I was not pleased to be reading a bible verse in a child’s book. Thank goodness I saved all my old books!! These new ones may get accidentally lost!!! Or a page ripped out!
This is NOT part of the classic series. I wouldn’t mind the overtly religious themes if the writing didn’t sound like a third grade book report, but as it turns out, this is not a good book.
It is great to have a book for my children which teaches traditional values and faith in God.
ANY Berenstain Bears book is good for kids, especially in this day and age. My son is 26 and loved all the books when he was little, me too. I just sent some to my Godchild with small kids. Please everyone, remember: NO putting your kids on your smart phones to watch a video to shut them up -- take the time to SIT with your kids and read a damn book with them! --gv
I love the set and great price. We been reading them a lot this month. My son can not get enough for the Berenstain Bears.
Christmas gift for he Grand Daughter she is 5 and will enjoy these books
Some of these books took a turn toward ultra-religious after the Son took over authoring the stories. Not complaining as good messages get across; but the tone and artistry are noticeable changes. Still love the BSB book series!
