My mom always love reading the poems from Robert Frost. But my mom just recently pass away and I wanted a copy of this book for myself. She had a total of seven children and her book could not have been split up so the other six siblings purchase their own. I did't think I could find the book so I put my trust in Amazon.com to find it and they did. I love the ease of shopping on-line and that is the way I usually do my shopping. Great for Birthday, Christmas, and ect. I do most of my Christmas shopping for my grandchildren with Amazon.com I am disabled and it is hard going out shopping so this is a great way to do my shopping. Thanks Amazon.com

Saw this book for years on my bandmate's shelf in our rehearsal spot. Finally grabbed it one day to put down some placeholder lyrics for a song we were working on and just fell in love with the words, with the prose, with the imagry and tone. I decided I needed it just to read, and at times, to inspire my own lyric writing.

Naturally Robert Frost because he's my favorite American poet, especially his masterpiece, The Road Not Taken, also Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening and Mending Wall. This book now 'lives' on the living room side shelf.

I first owned this volume of poetry in 1978. That book simply fell apart after more than 20 years of reading and handling (sometimes roughly by my children). I replace this book with a new one just last year.The old favorites are all here; Fireflies in the Garden, The Road Not Taken, Fire and Ice, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening, and a hundred more. In my opinion this is the definitive volume on Frost.I have always been awed by the number of poems Frost wrote about the stars. A Star on a Stoneboat, The Star Spitter, Stars, Canis Major and many others. Truly Robert Frost is the astronomers poet.Also in this volume is perhaps my favorite Frost poem, Brown's Descent.If you love reading Frost on a crispy fall evening, then you'll love reading him when the crickets chirp. You'll need to own this book.

I was definitely impressed by one of the greatest writers of poetry. Modern poets should read this and take not of somebody who had talent.

He averaged only 10 pages of poetry per year, but he stayed at it for 70 years, which is a truly remarkable achievement. And he won 4 Pulitzer Prizes for Poetry. There is something for everyone.

Thankfully, I work in a very niche field with limited competition. I have lots of experience, so, theoretically, I'm probably an attractive candidate to many companies "on paper." Anytime I've wanted or needed a new job, I've always been able to get the interviews - it's getting the job that has been the giant hurdle. I'm in a position now where I will need a new job due to a pending relocation. I was lucky enough to have a few interviews a few months ago, but, ugh, I messed up both of them! I just know I said something "bad" that turned them off completely. The problem is, I didn't really know what I said that was so bad. Given the situation I am in, I knew I would need some kind of "help," and I'm extremely grateful to have stumbled upon this book. This may be the best, most useful $10 I have ever spent! I would buy it again and again if I had to. I was able to finally realize that some of the answers I had were really ridiculous. That infamous "where do you see yourself in 5 years question" has always thrown me for a loop, in particular. Now, I've got a brilliant answer to that question thanks to this book! I even feel like my job search is picking up steam, so there are more and more chances for me to secure that elusive offer. In fact, I might be close to getting an offer very soon! Even though my recent job search isn't done, I feel like I'm a whole lot closer, and I think I've got an excellent shot at getting an offer all because of this book. I'm not messing up my interviews anymore - YAY!

I was offered a job on my third interview using the suggestions in the book. I found the 60 second sell to be very effective and logical. I tend to ramble when I'm nervous so this really made me limit my introductory background information. Additionally, there is a comprehensive selection of hiring sample questions complete with effective responses which I found really helpful. I highly recommend it.

Y si lo haces manualmente tendras que ir palabra por palabra y eso duraria mucho tiempo.Cuando esto se arregle, yo dare cinco estrellas.Repito, mi critica es sobre la el formato y no el contenido del libro.

What about reading a book on the architect Francesco Borromini written by an art historian who was a cousin of the Queen Mother, her friend, and her art consultant? With a caveat: he spied for the Soviet Union for most of his life.A brilliant mind, Blunt tells the whole story about Borromini, an architect born at the Ticino in 1599, a mathematical genius, who got inspired by Michelangelo's late Renaissance architecture masterpieces. It seems Blunt spied on Borromini. The book gives detailed descriptions of Borromini's churches and convents that include the influences and creations that made Borromini to be hated and loved in his lifetime, and until our days.If the reader does not live in Rome, he will immediately be possessed by the urge to get on a plane to visit the masterpieces of Borromini. Well... I did. In June I went to Florence to photograph Michelangelo's works that influenced Borromini, and to Rome to see with my eyes Sant'Ivo alla Sapienza, the Barberini helicoidal stairway and San Carlo alle Quatro Fontane(the photos will be shown at Società Dante Alighieri in Coral Gables, Florida, as of Sep. 4th, 2015).One of the highest points of the book is the troubled professional relationship of Borromini with Bernini, which was one of the factors in Borromini's suicide.A great reading.

This is the best choice if you need detailed informaition on Borromini. The architect has a lot of works in Rome but you can't find a lot of literature about him in English, Italian etc. Blunt's book is not easy reading because you should use Internet to search for pictures and drawings. You will understand more after watching and comparing what you read. The book is very good for students and specialists who learn architecture and Borromini. It will be interesting for some amateurs if they are ready for diving into the deapth of the art of Barocco in Rome. It is not for tourists who are going to visit Italy. They need something easier.Book has a lot of black and white pictures but it is not enough for understanding. Size and weight is convinient. Paper is good, font is legible.

This is a very fine, concise biography of the famous Baroque architect, Borromini. As the author states in his introduction, he is not introducing any new scholarship on Borromini, but is providing a synopsis of existing scholarship. If one wishes a more complete biography, there are other books available. However, for those who only need a brief introduction to the man and his work, but more than the usual coverage given in a standard work on Baroque architecture, this fits very nicely. My only quibble is that the illustrations were sparse relative to the text and that they were in black-and-white.

When I was living in Rome, I became aware of Borromini in a general way, through such delights as the "long" Colonnade at the Palazzo Spada, and the corkscrew exterior of the lantern tower of Sant' Ivo, but as many times as I gazed out of my bedroom window at the cupola of Sant' Andrea della Valle, I never noticed the "pairs of Ionic columns [that] share a common capital" [24], or the "cherub's heads" that are a variation on the "eggs of the egg-and-tongue motif" on the cornice of Sant' Ivo [19]. In other words, I had no idea what to look for.In this engaging book, Anthony Blunt not only brings such fascinating details to light, but he also explains the complex theory of what he observes to be Borromini's revolutionary take on ancient architecture in terms that are comprehensible to the reader who is not an expert in art history.The only drawback to the book, which, one would think that Harvard University Press would remedy since the book is in its fifth printing, is the quality of the black-and-white photographs, which are liberally dispersed throughout the book. Although not an issue as far as the illustration of architectural plans is concerned, some of the photographs are of poor quality [An example is that of Borromini's Colonnade at Palazzo Spada, which is so dingy that it obscures the incredible illusion of the forced perspective entirely. A shame, because with digital photographs, this readable work would make a splendid "coffee-table book."].Reading this book makes me want to get on the next plane and fly back to Rome [any excuse!], where I shall certainly look at Borromini's architecture with new eyes.

Great book on the architecture of Borromini.As Blunt states in the introduction, he is trying to write something that is accessible.Each section starts with a historical background on the building, and he always relates the building to the compromises which had to be made.Only thing that would be useful is a list of architectural terms in the back.Other issue is that at times hard to determine what is there now and what was originally there.Just got back from Rome, and want to go back with this book as a guide.

This is a (mostly) accessible book on the remarkable innnovation of Borromini. While the comments about the photos being a bit grainy are true, this wasn't meant to a coffee table book (though I second the opinion it would make an excellent one). It's more of an academic text that just happens to be very readable. Again, not perfectly so, but if you have an enthusiasm for the subject you should be drawn in completely.

A definitive, beautifully written book.

In my opinion I feel that Wilson's FENCES is his best play. I've read THE PIANO LESSON and SEVEN GUITARS. August Wilson is an EXCELLENT playwright who truly captures the African American struggle with such humor, satire, irony, hope, and sadness. This was a good read, but not one of his best to me.

Each of August Wilson's plays is rich, memerable, and wholly poetic in its scope of the African American experience. Naturally with any series in any genre or medium, some plays are not as good as others--but mostly the entire cycle is a near masterpiece, and certain plays in the cycle (such as Fences) are a perfect masterpiece.If you look at the structure of the cycle, you will see that to have ten plays put together to encompass a whole century in the lives of an entire group of people is no small feat. When August Wilson writes of the African Americans, he is in a sense writing about all Americans and how they live their lives. The plays demonstrate their voice in the rich poetry of the blues--one could very well be called the blues musician of the pen and the paper. With no more than a tenth grade education and a lifelong passion for books, Wilson has proven himself a true visionary.August Wilson died in 2005. His absence will be long grieved, just as his immortal works will surely be forever cherished for their sharp-edged beauty and piercing vitality.

One of his best. I am two plays short of owning the entire cycle. August Wilson was (and is) the voice for a generation.

I was especially rewarded by seeing a superb professional production of this play the other night! I strongly recommend reading it before watching it; the experience is that much more impactful.

i don't read much much as i cant find a book to interest me enough , but this was an amazing play . I wish i can find more like it .

Floyd Barton promised to give Vera the moon. Problem was he wasn't no good, and her neighbor Louise tried to tell her that. Yet, while reading August Wilson's play, Seven Guitars, you want what Louise said to be just talk as Wilson uses other male characters in the sets explore the disenfranchisement many black men felt during the period in which the story occurs. As he does so, you have no idea where the story will go. Then again, clues are dropped, like Hedley's machete, to let you know something isn't going to end well.

That book is really good and covers most of Oracle features for developers, and, moreover, it is official Oracle guide.

Oracle Database 11g PL/SQL Programming (Oracle Press)I use this book in conjunction with a second I had to buy called "Oracle Database 11g: The Complete Reference". The PL/SQL Progaming is excellent in decribing how to what I want to achieve. However it had no reference to the available functions and the syntax. That is why I got the second book. The second book may not be the best option, but it is helpful. I am new to Oracle in general, but I have extensive eperience in MS SQL Server. In "PL/SQL Programming" I have been staying in the first three parts of the book. I will go on the latter parts next quarter. This is not a book for beginner's. I am experienced, but no guru in MS SQL Server so most this book was readable to me. However the book covers a wide range of topics, therefore some individuals who only want part of the book may need to look elsewhere.
